At East Berkshire College, College we have a number of policies and procedures to promote a positive and safe environment for staff and students. These include our Civility Code and College Behaviour Management Policy. They outline simple and clear expectations of staff and learners:

• Our civility Code outlines the 5 pillars of civility which govern behaviour standards and expectations along with the College’s key commitments to learners.  These are visibly clarified on our civility tree with the behaviours and characteristics staff, students and visitors are expected to display at all times

• Our behaviour policy recognises, develops and promotes appropriate behaviours at all times with a range of positive and corrective interventions and sanctions

Treat everyone with respect and treat them as you would want to be treated’ was introduced as a ‘Golden Rule’ by learners and it remains at the heart of our shared expectations.
