Preparing to Work in Schools Award Level 1

This qualification is aimed at Learners who are thinking of working in a school setting. This qualification prepares learners for further learning and training whilst developing an understanding of the teaching and learning environment in a school setting. It covers areas such as how to support the well-being of a child or young person and child and young person development.

Law A Level

If you have a passion for current affairs and are fascinated by the way law functions then this is the course for you. It will help you develop a sound understanding of the main principles of the English Legal System.

This course is modular and follows AQA syllabus. Unit 1 covers Law making and you will study the legislative processes in the UK and Europe, as well as statutory interpretation and the hierarchy of courts. For Unit 2 you will study Dispute Solving and this includes the court structure, tribunals, the role of barristers, judges and lay people in the legal process. The third unit which makes up the AS Level introduces criminal liability and sentencing.

Polish A Level

This course can be taken as part of a full time programme of study or as a stand-alone part time qualification.

This is an advanced level course which aims to develop and extend the skills the student already has in the foreign language. The course enables students to: -develop the knowledge and skills acquired at GCSE level and therefore use Polish in a wide range of contexts -gain a useful insight into another culture and reflect on various aspects of contemporary society -enhance their employment prospects, facilitate foreign travel and experience the enjoyment and motivation of improving their linguistic level

The classes are conducted entirely in Polish.

This syllabus develops the four linguistic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing through the media of text books, TV, listening materials and authentic press sources. Various themes are studied through the medium of Polish including: Media: TV, advertising and communication technology Popular culture: cinema, music and fashion/trends Healthy living/lifestyle: exercise, health and wellbeing and holidays Family/relationships: relationships within the family, friendships and marriage/partnerships

Homework is set every week and students are expected to do regular personal research and keep up to date with Polish current events. At the end of the year there is one written exam.

Overview Employers within the Automotive retail industry have designed the new approved apprenticeship Standard for technicians who service and repair light vehicles. This standard has replace what was known as a framework.

Role A motor vehicle technician services and repairs light vehicles and works either in dealerships that focus on a particular manufacturer, or for an independent garage that deals with many different makes of vehicles. They work on all the systems found within the vehicle. The nature of the work ranges from replacing simple parts through to solving complex faults with the use of diagnostic methods and equipment.

Electrotechnical Apprenticeship Level 3

This apprenticeship consists of a mixture of college and site based training and assessment, studying principles, practices and legislation applying to electrical systems, installation of wiring systems and electrotechnical equipment in buildings, how to diagnose and correct electrical faults, planning and maintenance of electrical systems, health and safety, environmental and wiring regulations for electricians.
