Apprenticeship & Training Open Day

Aspire for Business, which is led by East Berkshire College, will be holding a special Apprenticeship & Training Open Day at the new Aspire Centre in Edinburgh Avenue in Slough on Monday 4th March, from 10am-3pm. Individuals and employers are invited to drop-in for expert advice on training and courses.


As part of a series of activities to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, the event will cover a wide range of training opportunities available for businesses and individuals. This will include information and advice on everything from Apprenticeships to one-day workshops and funding to recruitment.

Representatives from all the curriculum areas from East Berkshire College will be on hand to provide expert advice on over 800 full-time and part-time courses and tailored training solutions.

Designed to be a one-stop shop for training, the event will also provide businesses with the chance to discuss their training and recruitment needs with the College's dedicated Business Services team. Among other things, small to medium sized business will be able to find out how they can access fully-funded training through a £1.4m contract with the European Social Fund (ESF). Businesses with less than 250 employees can access the fully-funded training for employees aged over 19 (and resident in the UK/EU) though the Skills for the Workforce project. Employers can access training in a range of areas including management and team leading, accountancy, administration, IT and specific industry-related skills to meet the requirements of their business.

Slough Aspire consists of three main delivery strands: Aspire for Schools led by Learning to Work, Aspire for You led by Slough Borough Council and Aspire for Business led by East Berkshire College. Aspire for Business delivers a range of tailored training, mentoring and business development activities to suit all sectors, sizes and budgets. The aim is to help Slough businesses maintain their competitiveness and develop a talented local workforce.
