Is this for me?

Skills Pathways courses are designed for 16 -23 year olds who are currently unemployed or not in education. It provides the opportunity for you to explore your options, turn your dream into reality or find your future.

How it works

This level one course runs for six months and at the end you will have an idea of which route is for you, whether you want to enrol onto a full-time course, seek out an apprenticeship, takes steps towards employment or self-employment.

You’ll try a range of exciting subjects from construction to IT and health & childcare to catering, along with improving your English, maths and IT skills.


East Berkshire College also offers additional opportunities such as our Genovation centre, where you get to put your ideas into action or develop that entrepreneurial spirit. As well as free sports activities from Futsal to badminton and glow sports to netball.

Assistance with travel fares, lunch and equipment is also available to eligible students and your income support/JSA will not be affected if you enrol on this course.

The next Skills Pathways course starts on 9 January 2016.
