What's covered?
The Level 3 BTEC in Sport is for anyone who: Has a real passion for sport. Has played or are playing at a high level. Interested in finding out more about the science behind sport. Wants to get ahead in their studies and develop onto a University degree. Wants to work in the sports industry. By doing this course you will: Gain an industry recognised qualification. Gain a functional skill in English/Maths. Learn more about the science of sport. Potentially become an ambassador for the College - representing the Sports department or Academy. Make lifelong friends who have the same interest as you.
What do you need?
5 A- - C GCSE to include English, Maths, Science and PE. BTEC Level 2 in Sport (at Merit level) or a related vocational area. Initial and diagnostic assessment at the appropriate level.
How you are assessed
You will cover 18 BTEC units over 2 years including: Anatomy Physiology Psychology Fitness Testing Current Issues in Sport Sports Facilities and many more exciting units. All units are assessed via written work, presentations, video recordings and observations. You will be required to study functional skills throughout which will include an exam at the end of the course. The BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport is a level 3 course which has an equivalence of 3 A -levels.

On completion of the BTEC you could: Find employment within the sports industry i.e. Leisure Centres, Health and Fitness Industry, Sports Media and many other potentially exciting fields. Help and support to apply to a University of your choice (after meeting entry requirements) either in the UK or on a scholarship to the USE or other countries.
