What's covered?

This Diploma is equivalent to a Level 2 qualification and provides opportunities for learners to gain a nationally recognised vocationally specific qualification to enter employment in the public Service or to progress to Higher Education.

There are three compulsory units: Public Service Skills, Career Planning and Improving Health & Fitness and specialist and optional units such as Crime and Effects. There will be an opportunity to explore the differences in the Uniformed services and to identify the demands made in each service. Functional skills will also be part of the programme and will provide an opportunity to develop your English, Maths and ICT skills further.

What do you need?

Four GCSE'S AT Grade D in particular English.

How you are assessed

You will study through a series of lectures and seminars, group and individual tasks to explore and research topics related to the units. Practical activities and visits will help to develop an awareness and understanding of the Career pathways in the various uniformed services.
