Personal Options Programme

Introduction to Personal Options Programmes

These courses will support you while you prepare for independence, work or an entry level/level 1 course. Our tutors specialise in helping people with many types of learning difficulties and/or disabilities to make sure you get the most of your time with us.

What will you study in Personal Options?

Pre-Personal Options is a pre-entry level course where you will be given one-to-one support to study the ASDAN Personal Progress Diploma at the level most suited to your needs and abilities. The Personal Options Programme enables learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities to enter further education at a suitable pace and level. You will also improve your independence and confidence, and develop your skills for employment such as good communications and responsibility.

Students can join exciting work ventures at College to help learn new skills - Pop Express at Windsor and Poppies at Langley. Both are successful in making money from projects, which is then reinvested in new business ideas.

Why choose East Berkshire College?

East Berkshire College has an excellent reputation for its Personal Options Programmes, and our Windsor College is a specialist area for learners on the autistic spectrum. Our staff are highly qualified, and provide care and support for learners on the programme, and our placement coordinator works closely with local businesses to match our students with appropriate work placements.

What could this lead to?

After completion of Pre-Personal Options, you may progress to Personal Options, or to supported living/employment. After Personal Options, students can progress to Advance2Go! or other appropriate mainstream course. For some this could lead to living an independent life, and for others it could lead to higher level courses and employment of your choice and ability.
