What's covered?

This is a course for those who are seriously committed to developing their BSL skills to a high level, and who are perhaps considering a career working with Deaf people.

To further develop BSL through tasks which resemble some of the real life experiences of people who meet and mix with Deaf people in their family, social or working lives. The first exam, Receptive skills, is usually taken in the second term, the second, a presentation, in May and the third, a signed dialogue, in June.

CACDP/Signature British Sign Language Level 1 certificate

How you are assessed

As part of the course students will be expected to take part in being videoed as evidence of learning. We encourage students to attend various Deaf clubs, social events, exhibitions and workshops to enhance signing and receptive skills - tutor will advise on where to obtain this information.

How Long?

One evening a week and a number of Saturday workshops
