What's covered?

Our courses are designed to cover the full range of topics and tasks as laid down by the City and Guilds in response to industry requirements.

The course consists of assessment units which assess the competence of a candidate over a wide range of activities. There will be a high emphasis on Health and Safety and correct working methods. The Unit titles are:

1 Structure of the Construction Industry 2 Fundamental safe working practices 3 Environmental and sustainability measures in domestic dwellings 4 Site preparation or working in the construction industry 5 Carry Electrical Installation wiring and terminations 6 Fabrication techniques for Electrical Installations 7 Electrical science and technology

What do you need?

No formal entry requirements but a willing to improve and learn

How you are assessed

You will be assessed through direct observation and externally set theory exams

How Long?

1 Year

What course next?

Level 2 Diploma in Electrical or Level 3 Apprenticeship in Electro technical

What could this lead to?

This course could lead to an apprenticeship, progression to level 2
