What's covered?

This course is designed to give you the opportunity to study Photography at an advanced level. The course focuses upon the use of digital photography.

Students are introduced to the practical side photography through set projects. A personal investigation is also required and this can be presented in various formats. The course consists of practical coursework, a personal investigation and controlled assignment set by the exam board. Students who are successful can then progress to the A2 level programme.

What do you need?

Applicants need a minimum of five GCSEs at grade C and above. A portfolio of previous work would be advantageous.

How you are assessed

Course work, personal investigation and a controlled assignment at A/2.

How Long?

AS level one year/A2 level a further year.

What course next?

Students can progress to full and part-time programmes in Art & Design areas or use the qualification towards entry to an HNC or degree level programme at university or art schools.

What could this lead to?

University, a career or apprenticeship in photography, photo-journalism.
