What's covered?

This course is aimed at people interested in a career in Plumbing and is the under pinning knowledge for the NVQ Diploma in Plumbing. You will study a wide range of skills to be effective in the industry including the measurements, cutting, bending and jointing of pipe work using various materials such as copper, plastics and mild steel, together with installing plumbing and heating appliances ranging from baths, sinks, toilets to radiators, circulating pumps and controls.

What do you need?

Three GCSEs at grade C or above including Maths, English and Science

How you are assessed

You are continually assessed through practical assignments and internal exams. Study is by lecture and workshop training. The students will be expected to undertake an amount of directed learning and functional skills form part of the overall qualification.

How Long?

One year

What course next?

You could carry on and study NVQ Diploma L2 (if you find a suitable job) or join the industry as a plumbers mate.

What could this lead to?

A Level 3 Diploma or/and a Level 3 Diploma if employed in the industry.
