What's covered?

If you are looking to change career or improve your prospects, our six week fast-track course in plastering gives you a detailed understanding in the basic essentials of professional plastering and is a great start if you are a complete beginner or have a keen interest in developing a career in the construction sector.

You will learn to prepare for plastering, plastering skills and how to clear and store plastering tools and equipment enabling you to carry out jobs involving rendering, dry lining, multi finish plastering on walls and ceilings.

All our lecturers are qualified professionals with real industry experience. You will learn in our modern workshops and realistic work environments, which feature the latest industry equipment and resources.

What do you need?

There are no formal entry qualifications although you will be required to take a College assessment. You will also require enthusiasm, motivation and a proven commitment to hard work, good time keeping and a desire to learn.

How you are assessed

You will be assessed on a range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge. This will include a short test at the end of every unit, followed by an online exam and phase test.

How Long?

The course is five days a week for six weeks.

What course next?

Once you have successfully completed this course and gained a credit pass or above you can move onto the plastering Level 2 fast-track diploma or enol onto a full-time Level 2 plastering diploma or construction course.

What could this lead to?

Once you have achieved your Plastering Level 1 Diploma, which is accredited by C Skills, you could enrol on to an apprenticeship, find a career within the rapidly evolving construction industry, become self-employed or progress on to the Level 2 course to further increase your earning potential.

The construction industry is growing fast and offers a vast range of employment opportunities for those with the right skills. The average UK salary within this industry is £29,000 per annum (Source: Totaljobs.com 2017).
