Full-time Fees
Normally if you are under 19, have been living in the UK for three years before your course begins, or you are a national of the European Economic Area* you won’t have to pay any tuition fees for Further Education courses.

If you are 19 or over fees may be payable to cover tuition and examination fees. To find out more information contact the Central Admissions team when you apply on 01753 793000. There will also be an administration fee of £30.

All students will need to pay for any material costs where relevant (things like specialist books and equipment). To find out if there are any extra costs on your course, give the department running your course a call or ask your tutor at your interview.

Part-time Fees
The fees shown are, with certain exceptions, the amount payable for your course when you enrol. The fee amount listed is for tuition and exam fees. However, some courses to have extra costs for materials, indicated by an ‘E’ on the course fact sheets.

Please note that a one-off college registration fee is payable by part-time students. You only pay this the first time you enrol in any academic year – no matter how many courses you enrol on. Some courses are exempt from this, for further information contact 0845 373 2500.

In some cases, students will be eligible for a reduction in course fees (this reduction does not apply to the cost of materials). Some people may be entitled to receive courses, which begin with the letter 'F' for free if they are:

a) unemployed and in receipt of Jobseeker's Allowance
b) in receipt of an eligible income-based state benefit
c) an unwaged dependant of those receiving either a) or b) above
d) aged 16 - 18
e) an asylum seeker in receipt of the equivalent of an income-based state benefit
f) attending a basic education course
g) attending a course for those with moderate/severe learning difficulties.

You must be able to provide evidence of eligibility at the time of enrolment such as your benefit book, a statement from bank / building society / post office showing benefit is being paid or a letter from Job Centre Plus.

Easy Ways to Pay
To make your life easier you can pay for your course in a variety of ways – cash, cheques (made payable to East Berkshire College), a range of credit and debit cards or postal orders. All fees are payable on enrolment.

If your course costs over £200 and runs for longer than one term, you can spread the cost in four instalments - subject to a £15 administration fee. The first instalment must be paid upon enrolment.  For more details please contact the Information Centre on 01753 793000. This facility is not available to overseas students.

Payment by Employers
If your employer is paying for your course, we can invoice them directly on receipt of a letter of confirmation of payment. If the student withdraws after the start date of the course, the company is still liable for the payment of fees.

Refunds
If your course is cancelled for any reason, then the College will fully reimburse fees paid if no alternative is available. However, the College will not reimburse fees when a student voluntarily withdraws from the course.

Overseas students
If you are a resident of a country not in the EU or European Economic Area, or you are a British National returning to the UK after spending time outside the EU, your fees will be calculated at the higher overseas student rate. There are limited exceptions to this and details are available from Central Admissions, call +44 01753 793288.
