The newly formed Windsor Forest College’s Group will be launching a new Sixth Form programme at Windsor and Strode’s Colleges forthcoming open days on Thursday 28 June, 4-6pm (Windsor) and Thursday 5 July 5-8pm (Strode’s). The two Colleges bring together academic expertise, outstanding resources and facilities and the largest A Level and BTEC curriculum in the area.

“At 16 students are ready for a fresh start, often keen to go somewhere new and different for the next stage of their education. We find that those who choose college over staying at school are students who are looking for more independence while bridging the gap to university but still within a supportive and caring environment – the best of both worlds” commented Kate Webb, Group Principal and Chief Executive of the Windsor Forest Colleges Group.

And that’s not the only way you get the best of both worlds at Windsor and Strode’s Colleges. Students looking to study both A Level and BTEC qualifications can do so with the Colleges’ Mix and Match option which enables students to build a tailored study programme best suited to their career ambitions.

It’s not just course choice and teaching excellence which the newly merged colleges offer students. Rowan Cookson, Principal at Strode’s College said: “We believe that the richer your time at college the better prepared you are for life after Strode’s or Windsor. Students can immerse themselves in a range of activities all designed to enhance their sixth form experience - from our very active Student Union which is the voice of students on both campuses to an exciting sports programme at Strode’s with teams competing at national and local level.”

Find out more at the Open Days on 28th June (Windsor College) and 5th July (Strode's College). Speak to the expert lecturing team, meet current students, and explore the facilities. For more information on the full range of courses offered at both Strode’s and Windsor visit

Students on the Evolve programme (formerly Personal Options) at Windsor College have helped provide an extra special gift for homeless people in the Windsor area this winter.

In the spirit of the season, the students and staff held a Charity Winter Fair at the College in St Leonards Road on Wednesday (7th December). Raising £280 for local charity The Windsor Homeless Project, which provides food, friendship and support for homeless people, the fair included a variety of stalls, games and a raffle as well as selling delicious cakes kindly donated by The Handmade Cake Company.

Lecturer Liz Wheeler, explains: “Every year the students on our Evolve programme, who have learning difficulties and/or disabilities, organise events to raise money for charity as part of their course. As well as supporting a worthy cause, the events also help the students to develop their literacy, numeracy and communication skills.”

Windsor College’s Evolve programme (formerly known as Personal Options) is an entry-level course for people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. For more information on the College's Evolve programme and foundation learning courses, please click here or call 01753 793000.
