Free tailored training to fit your business needs
As part of a new government funded project, small to medium-sized businesses* (SMEs) operating in Berkshire can now access free training for members of staff over 16 years old (and resident in the UK/EU) to help upskill their workforce.
The Skills for the Workforce programme, which runs until June 2018, is designed to boost the skills of the local workforce and help local businesses like yours to be more productive and competitive. All of the training partners in this programme have years of experience of working with business in a wide range of sectors, and can ensure your workforce is equipped with the skills it needs to keep your business competitive.
Training will be delivered on a flexible, modular basis and will be tailored to the needs of your company and employees. Programmes can include accredited units, certificates or diplomas as well as non-accredited training, which will be delivered at your workplace and local partner facilities. Employees will then have the opportunity to go on to complete a full, industry-recognised qualification, such as an apprenticeship, providing more in-depth knowledge and forming the basis for further training opportunities at higher levels.
Employers can access training for their employees in a range of areas including management and team leading, innovation and business development, IT and specific industry-related skills to meet the requirements of their business. Other key sectors and roles include: IT systems administrators, lab technicians, pharmacy technicians, care workers, nursing assistants, warehouse operatives, engineering technicians, LGV drivers, chefs and hospitality supervisors.
The business benefits:

- flexible training to minimise downtime

The Skills for the Workforce programme is part of the Employees Support in Skills project, which is part-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF).
